Here's the amazing farewell and celebration video for and featuring our 8th graders. Enjoy!

Big thanks to Principal Smithson for her address, all our wonderful students, staff contributions, and acting 8th grade Team Lader, Mr. Chrzanowski dedicating his time and talents to producing something so special for our 8th graders.

We're going to miss you, 8th graders! You've been a wonderful class of kids! ~Ms. Jones (as webmaster, I had to share my 2¢! -- Please come back and visit us!!!)

Dear MHMS Families,

As we draw close to the end of the 2019-2020 school year I want to uplift the strength and resiliency of the Murray Hill Middle School community.  No one could have imagined a year ending the way that this school year is ending, and I want to thank you for your grace as we have navigated through these unprecedented times.  The MHMS staff has worked hard to support all of our students and all of our families, and while it is recognized that everything was not always done with perfection, I hope that all of you know that we did all that we did with care and with love for our school community.

As this will be the final Murray Messenger of the 2019-2020 school year, I wish you all a safe and healthy summer.  Please take care of yourselves, and of one another.

Sincerely,
Lisa R. Smithson
Principal
Murray Hill Middle School

Week of June 15th: No new assignments will be assigned during the week of June 15th.  Any student who currently has less than 50% in any class, should consider utilizing their time to complete any missing work from Quarter 4.  All assignments will be accessible in Canvas through June 23rd, and students will still receive credit for completion.  If a student submits a make-up assignment, we ask that they email their teacher to inform them that a make-up assignment has been submitted, in order to alert the teacher of the submission.

Students are still expected to attend their Google Check-In’s during the week of June 15th.  Teachers will facilitate lessons on a variety of topics, including self-care, social-emotional well-being, and other relevant topics.  Since no new assignments will be assigned, students will need to earn a minimum of 3 attendance points in order to be marked present for the week.

Quarter 4 Grades:  Students must complete at least 50% of their online assignments in order to earn a “P” (pass) for their fourth quarter grade.  If less than 50% of their online assignments are completed, students will earn an “I” (incomplete) for their fourth quarter grade.  Students will have the opportunity to complete curriculum work packets during the summer for a grade change to be processed to change an “I” to a “P.”  More information regarding curriculum work packets will be shared at a later date.

June 19th, 22nd, and 23rd:  June 19th-23rd, have been designated as half days for students.  On Monday, June 15th, each grade level team will send out detailed information regarding their individual team plans for these days.  Students will be asked to attend no more than one Google Check-In during the three half days.

Refunds:  Thank you for the patience of those of you who have refunds that need to be processed for field trips and intramurals.  We have recently started the task of processing refunds, and we ask for your continued patience as we work through the many refunds that we must process.  Please know that if you made a payment online, through OSP, you can expect for the refund to be directly credited back to the credit card that you used to make the payment.  For checks that were deposited, you can expect a check to be mailed to the primary address that is listed on Synergy (HCPSS Connect).  If you have moved and have not updated your address, please contact Principal’s Secretary, anne_wilhelm@hcpss.org and registrar, brenda_ganzermiller@hcpss.org as soon as possible.  If you made a payment with a check, and the check was never deposited, the check will be voided.  If you would like a copy of the voided check, for your records, please contact Principal’s Secretary, anne_wilhelm@hcpss.org.  Again, we thank you for your patience in this matter as a result of the school closure.

Spring Pictures and Memory Books:  Spring Pictures were just delivered to the building this week, and we are still waiting for the delivery of the Memory Books.  Once the Memory Books are delivered, we will establish one distribution day, for both items to be picked up, drive-thru style, in our parking lot.
