Dear Murray Hill Middle School Community,
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the final days of summer. My name is Tammy Jones, and I am honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Murray Hill Middle School. I am thrilled to join this vibrant community and look forward to working together to ensure a successful and enriching school year for all our students.
New Student Orientation:
I want to extend a special welcome to our new students and their families. We are excited to have you join our school community! To help you get acclimated, we will be hosting a New Student Orientation on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 1:00. This will be an excellent opportunity for students and families to tour the school, meet teachers, and learn more about what to expect in the coming year.
Reviewing Important Information:
As we prepare for the start of the school year, I encourage all families to review the important information provided in this school message. This includes details about family file, schedules, supporting our PTA and more. Staying informed will help ensure a smooth and successful start to the year.
Join the PTA:
Our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) plays a crucial role in supporting our students and staff throughout the year. I strongly encourage all families to join the PTA and get involved in our school community. Your participation, whether through attending meetings, volunteering, or simply staying informed, makes a tremendous difference.
Support Our Staff & Teacher Breakfast:
To kick off the school year on a positive note, we are planning a welcome breakfast for our amazing staff and teachers. If you are able, we would greatly appreciate any donations to help make this event special. Contributions can be in the form of monetary donations using this link Murray Hill Middle (osmsinc.com). Your generosity will go a long way in showing our staff how much they are valued and appreciated.
If you have any questions or would like to get involved in any of these initiatives, please do not hesitate to reach out. I am excited to meet each of you and work together to make this year one of growth, achievement, and community.
Thank you for your continued support of Murray Hill Middle School. I look forward to a fantastic year ahead!
Warm regards,
Tammy Jones
Proud Principal
New Student Orientation August 22, 2024
Orientation is for ALL New Students: This is a reminder that our orientation is for all new students, whether they're joining us for the first time or transferring from another school. Students will enter the building and report to their first-period teacher’s classroom. Signs and staff will help direct students to the correct locations. Parents and guardians will meet in the cafeteria while students are with their teachers. This orientation will serve as a time for students to see the school, practice with their lockers, and learn more about MHMS. For parents and guardians, this will be a time for you to hear about different procedures at MHMS and have a brief Q&A with the Administration and counselors.
Family File:
Please complete this online before the school year begins. Go to www.hcpss.org and log onto HCPSS Connect. Click on Family File. Even if you have already completed this, please go on again to ensure all contact information (including email addresses and phone numbers) are up to date. This is essential in ensuring you receive timely information from school. The deadline for this is August 26, 2024.
Important Reminder: Update Your Address with HCPSS
Please be reminded that, as per Policy 9000 you are required to inform HCPSS if you move to a new home address. It is essential to update your current residency documentation with every change in residency.
PTA:
Our community needs your help! PTA promotes family enrichment in school and is devoted to helping students achieve success. At this time, all of our executive board positions are vacant. We are seeking a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and a Secretary. We are also looking to add more general members to our PTA. Please consider supporting us. If you are interested in supporting our PTA, please email jennifer_blasko@hcpss.org. Thank you in advance for your consideration and support!
Staff Breakfast
We are excited to celebrate our staff and their contributions and dedication as we welcome new and returning members to Murray Hill Middle. To make this occasion special, we seek monetary donations to support a hot breakfast event on August 15th. Your generous contribution will help us show our appreciation for our staff's hard work and commitment. If you wish to donate monetarily, please visit THIS LINK. Thank you for your generosity.

Student Schedules:
On Wednesday, 8/21, schedules posted for will be posted for incoming students on HCPSS Connect. Please note that while these posted schedules are as accurate as possible, changes may still occur.
Please note: As we continue to enroll students, we are also continuing to balance class sizes based on new enrollments. With that, schedule change requests may not be possible. Such requests will be placed on a waitlist until all registrations are complete, and will be evaluated based on things such as course availability and class size. For the first couple of weeks our top priority is ensuring every student has a schedule by the first day of classes after enrollment. As such, any request for a schedule change could take until the end of September before we are able to determine the possibility of a change. Finally, schedule change requests made due to teacher preference are unable to be honored. Again, we appreciate your patience as we continue to welcome new families to Murray Hill.
