The core of who I am as an educator/administrator is that I have a passion to make a difference in the way young people feel about themselves and to provide opportunities that will put them on a path to not only be a productive citizen, but also allow them to live a life that makes them feel fulfilled.
My educational background is as follows: Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Bowie State University, Masters of Art in Reading Education at The Ohio State University, and Graduation Certificate in School Administration and Supervision at Johns Hopkins University. I began my teaching career in Worcester and Wicomico County Public Schools on the eastern shore of Maryland, where I was born and raised. There, I taught all core subjects from elementary to middle school grades. Later, my husband, our three children, and I moved to Howard County where I taught English/language arts and was a reading specialist at the middle school level. All of my children are graduates of Howard County Public Schools. Since 2011, I have been the Assistant Principal of Murray Hill Middle School. As I enter my 27th year as an educator, I continue to look forward to a new school year - a chance to better serve the students, staff, and community of The Hill.
