STUDENT PICTURE DAY IS THURSDAY, APRIL 10TH

Lifetouch Studios will begin taking pictures promptly at 12:30 PM, so please make certain to have your child arrive on time.  To order your student's pictures, visit Lifetouch.com and use Code EVT2QBPFC. Only students who pre-ordered Spring photos will be photographed on Picture Day.

TIME TO ORDER YOUR 2024-2025 MEMORY BOOK!

Students have been working hard to create a great keepsake from this school year.  A variety of events, student groups, and activities have been included!  The online ordering system is open and you can place your order now to reserve your copy of our Memory Book. The cost of our Memory Book is $20. Orders can be placed online following the directions below or students can get a payment envelope from Ms. Behrens. Memory Book sales will close on April 24.  To ensure you get a copy, purchase it now!

SPRING WEATHER & SCHOOL DRESS CODE REMINDER AND LOST & FOUND OVERFLOW

With the arrival of warmer spring weather, we want to remind students to continue following our school dress code guidelines to ensure a comfortable and appropriate learning environment. Please take a moment to review these expectations HCPSS Dress Code with your child.

Speaking of clothing, our Lost & Found in the cafeteria is overflowing with jackets, sweatshirts, lunch boxes and other items—so much that we could practically open a store! If your child is missing something, please encourage them to check the Lost & Found as soon as possible. Students can also check with our secretaries in the front office or parents can call as well.

STEM FAIR

STEM Roots will be hosting a STEM Fair on April 4th from 5 pm to 8 pm at Howard High where students from all over Howard County in grades 3 - 8 will have the opportunity to present STEM-based projects to judges to win awards. REIMAGINE THE RAINBOW EVENT           

All students, staff, parents, and community members are invited for an evening of advocacy on Friday, April 25, from 5:00 - 9:15 pm at Centennial High School. Headlining the evening will be Ellen Oh and Phil Bilder. More information  ReImagine the Rainbow

INSPIRIT ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SUMMER PROGRAM

Inspirit AI is partnering with Howard County Public Schools this summer to offer an in-person project-based artificial intelligence program. Inspirit AI is an AI education program developed and taught by Stanford and MIT alumni and graduate students. The program will consist of ten (10) 3-hour sessions taking place from July 14-25, 2025 at Hammond High School. The program fee is $1,500, and some financial assistance is available through Inspirit AI. Interested families should fill out this short interest form. For more information program brochure.

If your student is going to be absent, please send a message to MHMSAbsence@hcpss.org.  The message will go directly to Ms. Janai Beck, who manages our daily attendance.  Please take time to review HCPSS’s Attendance Policy 9010.

CLOTHING TO CASH

MHMS participates in the Clothing to Cash fundraising program. Clothing to Cash is a textile recycling program that donates money to the school for every pound of donated items. Look for the white donation bin at the bottom of the Murray Hill Middle School parking lot. Clothing to Cash will accept items in ALL conditions: new with tags, or torn, stained, worn-out knees, shoes with holes or only one shoe, backpacks, old sheets, towels, blankets, stuffed animals and more. What a great way to help the school and clean out your closets! All donations must be bagged and put in the collection bin.  We appreciate your support!
