Today, State Superintendent Karen Salmon announced that schools across the state would be closed until April 24, 2020. HCPSS is working diligently on a comprehensive distance learning plan. School staff members are eager to continue learning while the distance learning plan is being created.

Dear MHMS Families, As we enter our second week of school closure, I wanted to reach out to thank you for your support and patience during this challenging time. The uncertainty and disruption caused by COVID-19 is taking a toll on everyone, and maintaining solidarity is one of our best defenses in coping with this and other stressful situations.

FREE for anyone 18 and under. Weekdays March 17-27, HCPSS will provide Grab-N-Go lunch for that day and breakfast for the following day. 11:30am-1:30pm at 9 locations.

I would like to invite our entire MHMS school community to be informed regarding the information that our Superintendent, Dr. Martirano has shared regarding Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-2019).

Happy Friday and Happy Valentine’s Day! I would like to thank the MHMS PTA for sponsoring the Annual Valentine’s Gift Shop this week. For a nominal cost, students were able to select from a variety of fun merchandise that the PTA had on display during the lunch shifts. Students really enjoyed visiting the “Shop” and making purchases for themselves, their friends and their family members.

Last Thursday, HCPSS Superintendent, Dr. Martirano visited Murray Hill Middle School. During his visit, he had the opportunity to speak directly with a group of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students as a part of his Student Advisory Meetings series, which supports his mission of hearing directly from students all over the county.

Last week was a great week at Murray Hill Middle School! Our Beginning Band, Concert Band, and Big Band hosted their Winter Concert, more than 30 students participated in the MHMS Spelling Bee, and 8th grade students worked diligently to complete their high school course selections.
