Dear MHMS Community, MHMS Administration, Mrs. Couch, Mrs. Blasko, and I hope that you are all having a wonderful summer. We are busily planning for the upcoming school year as summer continues to tick away. We wanted to update you all on some important upcoming dates and events. Please add these to your calendars, and we look forward to your attendance.

The new HCPSS bus locator offers an enhanced map, pop-up messaging, same day updating capability, and additional school information. Type in your address to see your child’s school and bus schedule.

Thanks to our our A+ partner Librarians at the Howard County Library and two of our local HCPSS Middle School Teacher-Librarians we have created this Super Fun Reading List for all the kiddos in our district! (or the world!)

Supply List for the 2019-20 school year. From Mrs. Smithson: Please note that due to potential staffing changes that may occur during the summer, some school supply items listed may change. Individual teachers will share the specific needs for supplies for their classes, during the first week of school. It is always a good idea for students to be prepared with at least writing utensils, folders, and paper for the first day of school.

Mr. Dunbar shares ways that you can get help if you need it this summer. We care about you and want to make sure you know that you always have options and help nearby!

Dear MHMS Community, I am excited to share that at this afternoon’s HCPSS Board Meeting our current Acting Assistant Principal, Jennifer Blasko was promoted to Assistant Principal at Murray Hill Middle School. Mrs. Blasko joined the Murray Hill Middle School community, as Acting Assistant Principal, on March 14th, and will continue in that role through June 21st. Her official start as Assistant Principal at MHMS will begin on July 1st

The MHMS June Jamboree is a fun event for students to celebrate the 2018-2019 school year. The MHMS PTA will be hosting a snack table for our students, and they are looking for donations. As a part of the 6th and 7th grade service learning project this year, our students engaged in various activities to support the Grassroots Crisis Center. As a result, we are proud to share that MHMS raised a total of $3,796.19 in donations!

Murray Hill's own new Assistant Principal, Mrs. Jen Blasko, was recognized at the Board of Ed meeting for being nominated for HCPSS Teacher of the Year! She was nominated for her work at PVMS prior to coming to us. Sources say (Mrs. Couch) that it was a nice reception and a great recognition...Congratulations Mrs. Blasko!
